Welcome

I’m so glad you stopped by. If you’re here, it’s likely you are taking a great leap of faith and have a whole lot of courage; you have at least some hope that life can get better, and this is a first step toward that goal. No matter what led you here, we can start the journey of healing together.

Could therapy be for you?

  • You’re a mom or dad who just had a baby, your baby cries every hour on cue, and you have started to feel on edge and suddenly your thoughts seem a whole lot more negative. Maybe you have even starting to think to yourself: “Will this ever get better?”, “shouldn’t these baby blues have gone away by now?”

  • You’re a mom or dad who has suddenly realized you’ve lost all motivation to do anything, you don’t find things in life enjoyable anymore, and most of the time you’d rather cover your face with the blankets in your bed and can’t see how the hell people enjoy this whole parenthood journey.

  • You’re pregnant and you’ve been having some scary thoughts. This is supposed to be a happy time, everyone’s told you. Instead, you find yourself replaying so many scary thoughts, feeling a constant feeling of dread, and you feel afraid and alone about what this birth might be like or how your life and body are changing. Some days you worry so much you feel paralyzed.

  • You’ve experienced a traumatic birth experience, or watched your partner experience a traumatic birth, and it feels like no understands and even worse than that, no one cares. You’ve started to dream about it, think about it all day, and there’s some uncomfortable resentment and sadness building up in you that you aren’t sure what to do with. You just want to talk about what happened to you and process without judgement.

Up until now, you’ve tried coping with just about anything and maybe even had the thought that there is no way therapy could really help. Afterall, you’ve done some tremendously hard things already and you feel you should be able to just get over it. To be strong. To carry this heavy weight on your own and keep it all together.

You are not alone.

Casey Hubbell, LCSW/LICSW

I’m Casey, and I want to walk with you on this journey to healing. I’m an LCSW in Pennsylvania and LICSW in Minnesota with specialized training in perinatal mental health, mood, and anxiety disorders. I’ve been a therapist since 2019 and after experiencing my own traumatic birth experience and postpartum struggles I became passionate about helping others in need of mental health support specific to these experiences.

Why ‘Note to Self’?

Life can be so fast-paced and overwhelming at times. When I think of something important I should have done or need to do amongst the chaos of my day I often think: “Note to self, make sure you do…later”. How many times do we think about doing something for our mental health, self-care, or just something kind for ourselves? How often is it a fleeting thought, brushed to the side as we care for the other important people and tasks in our lives. Note to Self LLC was created out of my vision for myself and others to pursue a deeper connection with self, a non-judgmental and safe place to care for emotional and mental well-being, and a practice that inspires and encourages caring for mental health and healing as a priority.

Your mental health matters.
